1798-1798: Radicals

-initial imposition by the radicals, after a period of disarray within the National Assembly

-however, after leader Pieter Vreede alienates mass of people, coup launched by General Daendals

-overthrown by it

1798-1801: Moderates

-new order established in this era

-elections held, things calm somewhat

-invasion of Scotland is high point for this era, and several victories help its continuance

-with coup and rise of Sieyesian order under Heads of France > 1800-1824 Pierre-Louis Roederer (Brumairian), arrangements made for new and more stable order

National Procurors of the Batavian Republic

1801-1811: Alexander Gogel

-new constitution which amends the old

-sees establishment of a National Procuror, who would serve as administrator and moving force of the Executive Authority

-with reforms based on package written by Roederer

-engages in impressive financial reforms which end feudal remnants once and for all

-and new taxes which finance government do so efficiently

-with end of War of the French Revolution (1792-1804), among terms are departure of French troops

-this also results in end of indemnities

-postwar inaugurates over period of prosperity

-Schedlt becomes grand commercial artery

-colonial markets see pretty impressive expansion
